First let me say that it has been one of the best experiences of my life to serve as Director in the ORS Office. I truly believe in the ORS mission; to provide rapid response, low-cost space capabilities to our Joint Forces who deploy around the world to ensure our freedom and democracy. “Assured Space Power Focused on Timely Satisfaction of Joint Force Commanders’ Needs” is more than the ORS Definition, it is the focus, intent, and beacon of ORS.

It has also been a tremendous educational experience to serve with a team of people who have such a great amount of experience, expertise and passion. They are truly one of the most talented teams in the Space Enterprise. That is why they have been able to accomplish all that they have in the past five years. Four launches in four years (JumpStart, TacSat-3, ORS-1 and TacSat-4), ORS-1 from ATP to launch in 31 months to support USCENTCOM, development of the Tier-1 Toolkit, outreach to every COCOM on an annual basis, and many others. This has all been accomplished with a very small dedicated team of program office personnel who worked very closely with an equally dedicated team of contractors and suppliers. It has been an honor serve with them.

I will be watching intently for future ORS successes and cheering them on every step of the way.

The session will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. The workshop location will be at the USU Space Dynamics Laboratory’s (SDL) Calibration and Optical Building 489 E 1650 N, North Logan, Utah. The purpose of the workshop is to present to the interested community a review of significant ORS activities and achievements accomplished over the past year.

Attendance will be restricted to U.S. Citizens holding a current SECRET Clearance.
